What Ya Playing is back

What Ya Playing Wednesday is back!!

By: Evan1Sonic. Last year I started a series of articles called What Ya Playing Wednesday. I made a total of nine of these posts before deciding that the series needed a redesign. After a bit of a break, that redesign is now here. I hope you enjoy this new format for What Ya Playing.

It's Wednesday, which that means it's time to talk about the games you and I've played/enjoyed this past week. More information about where to send your submissions to be featured in the series can be found at the bottom of this post. This week I've been playing Cuphead and finished Outer Wilds.

Outer Wilds is an action-adventure open-world puzzle game from Mobius Digital. Even though I got stuck several times due to difficult puzzles I enjoyed this game. I finished the game, and while I won't be talking spoilers (other than discussing basic game mechanics and whatnot), I'm glad I stuck with the game till its end. You take on the role of a new recruit in a space exploration program designed to search for answers in a mysterious solar system. After boarding your spaceship you have complete freedom to explore the entire solar system in whichever order you prefer. This is one of my favorite parts of the game because my experience will differ from yours. Each planet has unique areas to explore and many secrets to discover, some of which took me hours to find. The main goal of the game is to solve a mystery that few know about. My only criticism of this game is that I was often clueless on where to go next. This while sometimes frustrating helped me further immerse myself in the role of an astronaut in this mysterious solar system. Only very few games have managed to capture both the terror and the excitement of space exploration to this success. Drifting around in the middle of nowhere with no fuel was freighting but finding a hidden city beneath a planet's surface was equally exciting. I'm looking forward to diving into the Echos of the Eye DLC after beating the game, especially after hearing so many good things. If you've never played Outer Wilds you owe it to yourself to check out this incredibly unique game. This game is also available on Xbox and PC Gamepass (DLC not included) so if you have Gamepass, you can play it for free.

Cuphead is a run and gun action game from Studio MDHR. The game is stunning, and it's based on 1930s cartoons. The game is very hard but not unforgiving. Once you've learned the patterns of each boss, it's just a matter of skill and reflexes. I'm currently on the final boss, who is causing me a lot of trouble, but I'm confident that I'll prevail in the end. This game will be the next review here at Elevate Games so stay tuned for more in-depth thoughts. If you're looking for either a beautiful or challenging game then Cuphead is a perfect choice. Also, I'm looking forward to the upcoming DLC, which will be released this June.

I’d love to hear about what games you’ve been playing recently so please send your submissions either to my email: elevategamesmail@gmail.com or to the What Ya Playing text channel in the Elevate Games Discord server, which you can join here. You can either tell me just the name of a game you've been playing or a bunch of text explaining what you enjoy (or/and don't) about that game. I look forward to hearing about what games you've been playing. Thanks.

This has been this week's What Ya Playing Wednesday. I'll see you all next week for another article about what games you and I have recently played/enjoyed.

I hope you enjoyed and Game On!!
