What Ya Playing 11/24/21
What Ya Playing Wednesday??
It’s time for the ninth entry in the “What Ya playing” series. This series is a check-in with both you, the reader and me, the writer. More information on how you can write into this series will be at the bottom of this article. It’s now time to ask What Ya Playing Wednesday??
Tales of Arise is the first game on this week's What Ya Playing. I'm not very far yet maybe six hours or so but I'm enjoying my time so far. I Like the story and characters. I love the comic-style cutscenes that provide more story and character moments. Through the game, you will hear a little sound effect that tells you a cutscene is ready. You don't have to play each and every cutscene and you could even miss all of them. If you miss one or want to watch one again you can do so at a campfire. You will find these campfires every now and then on your journey. I like Aphen and Shionnes's push and pull. Aphen can't feel pain and anyone who touches Shionne is filled with pain. This means Shionne's personally is less open and she is just starting to open up with Aphen where I am in the game. Since Aphen can't feel any pain he can use a flaming sword that he got from Shionne. Each time he use's this sword in gameplay it will take a bit of his health bar away from him due to the extreme heat. This attack does a ton of damage up front and a little bit over time. I like the gameplay loop even though it's starting to get repetitive. It's an action-based battle system, similar to Final Fantasy VII Remake. While I've only faced a few bosses the ones I have are great. They make you use everything you've learned so far to destroy them, as a good boss should. The biggest complaint I have so far is that I don't like the fact that I don't know the main goal of the game yet. I'm just going from one town to another helping free enslaved people from the corrupt corporation keeping them as slaves. I'm sure as I play more I will find this out though. This game is great and if your looking for a nice, long RPG then you can't go wrong here.
Halo Infinite Multiplayer is the second and final game on this week’s What Ya Playing. I’ve still been playing solo and I’ve played about ten hours so far. My opinion on this game has completely flip-flopped since last week. I'm now loving my time with the multiplayer so far compared to not enjoying it last week. I love the ranked mode and it's the only mode I find myself playing in. The ranked mode is very similar to the Quick Play and Big Team battle game-modes but it feels more competitive with the risk of going down a rank. After you play ten matches in the Ranked game mode the game will give you a rank based on how well you did in these ten matches. Each time you play ranked depending on how many kills you got, how many times you died, and more, you can either earn points to go up or lose points to down a rank. This system makes every match feel like you are fighting to defend or upgrade your rank and I love it. While it may not seem like much from the outside the ranked mode is one of the best parts of Halo Infinite's Multiplayer and I highly recommend you give it a try.
That has been What I’ve Been Playing Wednesday!! I’d love to hear what video games you’ve been playing so please let me know either in the comments or send me an email at elevategamesmail@gmail.com. Be sure to include “good to post” in your email for the chance to be included in next week's What Ya Playing. You can either send me a short I’m playing this game or your full opinions of the game or even something in between. The only limitation is that I won’t post anything more than 175 words long. That will be it for this week and I’ll see you all next week.
